IDF Eliminates Two Senior Hamas Commanders Involved in October 7th Attack
The Israeli military announced Tuesday that it had eliminated two senior Hamas commanders in recent strikes. One of the targeted individuals was Muhammad Jamal Ahmed Eid, identified as a commander in Hamas's Nukhba force, who participated in the October 7th massacre in southern Israel. He was killed in an airstrike in the Al-Bureij area.
In a separate strike, the IDF killed Saleh Ziad Ibrahim Muqdad, a squad commander in Hamas's naval force, in the Gaza City area. The military stated that both commanders were actively advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians, working to improve the operational capabilities of Hamas operatives and restore the organization's infrastructure, in violation of the ceasefire.
The IDF stated that the strikes were carried out to neutralize the threat posed by the commanders. Prior to the operations, measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to act against immediate threats, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.
