About baba News

Last updated June 25, 2026

baba News is an independent aggregator that translates and summarizes Israeli news into clear English. It is run by the small team behind baba, the Hebrew translation app at itsbaba.com.

What baba News is

baba News reads Israeli and Hebrew-language news so English speakers do not have to. We continuously monitor roughly 30 Israeli outlets across four languages and, for each story, produce an English machine translation, a short AI summary, key points, and a list of the people, organizations, and places involved. When several outlets cover the same event, we cluster their reports together and show how the coverage breaks down across the political spectrum. Every story links back to the original article at its source.

Who runs it

baba News is operated by the team behind baba, an independent Hebrew translation product. We are a small, self-funded team. baba News grew out of the same translation technology we built for the app: once we could translate Hebrew accurately, reading the Israeli press in English became the obvious next step.

Ownership and funding

baba News is independent. It is funded by the baba product and receives no money, direction, or editorial input from any newsroom, government, party, or advocacy group. We do not run sponsored stories, and no source pays to be included or to influence how it is described.

What baba News is not

  • It is not a newsroom. baba News does no original reporting. We translate, summarize, and organize work that other journalists produced.
  • It is not affiliated with the outlets it covers. baba News is not endorsed by, partnered with, or connected to Ynet, N12, Haaretz, The Times of Israel, the Jerusalem Post, or any other outlet listed on our sources page. We cover them; we do not represent them.
  • It is not a single point of view. We deliberately pull from the left, center, right, and religious press, in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and English, so readers can see the full range of how a story is being told.

Transparency

Because much of what you read here is AI-generated, we try to be unusually clear about how it works. Our methodology page explains the pipeline end to end, our AI and translation policy sets out the limits of machine translation, and our editorial standards explain how we choose sources and assign political lean.
