IDF Eliminates Hamas Nukhba Commander Involved in Oct. 7 Soldier Abductions
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail, a Hamas Nukhba force commander, in the Khan Younis area last week. Ismail participated in the October 7th incursions into Israel, engaging IDF armor and taking part in the abduction of Captain Omer Neutra, Sergeant Major Oz Daniel, and Staff Sergeant Nimrod Cohen. During the initial encounter, the tank driver, Staff Sergeant Shaked Dahan, was killed.
Throughout the ongoing conflict, Ismail was reportedly involved in ambushes targeting IDF forces. More recently, he was advancing terror plans while systematically violating the ceasefire, according to the IDF.
The Nukhba forces are Hamas's elite commando unit, often used for special operations. Their involvement in the October 7th attacks was significant, with many Nukhba operatives being among the first to breach the border fence and carry out attacks.
