IDF Kills Hamas Nukhba Commander Behind October 7 Terror Attack in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targeted and killed a commander of Hamas's Nukhba unit in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza on Sunday. This commander had infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and was actively orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli forces operating in Gaza. According to the IDF, his ongoing activities posed an immediate threat to Israeli troops.

This targeted killing is part of a broader IDF campaign against senior Hamas Nukhba commanders and militants involved in the October 7 attacks. In recent days, the IDF has eliminated several high-ranking terrorists, including a Hamas battalion commander in the Deir al-Balah area who was leading efforts to rebuild the group's underground infrastructure.

Additionally, the IDF killed a senior Nukhba commander from the Islamic Jihad terror group who had also infiltrated Israel on the morning of Simchat Torah. This militant was involved in holding Israeli captive Rom Breslavski and participated in documented hostage transfer ceremonies by terror organizations.

Security officials emphasized that the continued militant activities represent a significant threat to Israeli forces in Gaza. The IDF Southern Command remains deployed in the area under existing agreements and will continue operations to neutralize immediate threats. These military actions are ongoing alongside diplomatic efforts, with Israel reiterating that no reconstruction will occur in Gaza until Hamas is fully disarmed.
