IDF Kills Hamas Commander Involved in October 7 Abductions
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Jihad Ismail, a commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba force, who participated in the October 7th attacks and subsequent abductions of Israeli soldiers. Ismail was involved in the kidnapping of Armored Corps fighters Captain Omer Naotara, Sergeant Major Oz Daniel, and Sergeant Nimrod Cohen, all of whom were killed. During the same engagement, tank driver Sergeant Shaked Dahan was also killed.
According to an IDF spokesperson, Ismail was active during the war, engaging in ambushes against Israeli forces. Recently, he had been advancing terror plans while systematically violating the ceasefire. The IDF stated that Ismail was a key figure in the October 7th raid and subsequent operations.
