IDF Eliminates Hamas Nukhba Commander Involved in Oct. 7 Tank Crew Abduction
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday that it eliminated Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail, a commander in Hamas's military wing Nukhba force, in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip last week. According to the IDF, Ismail participated in the October 7th massacre, infiltrating southern Gaza into Israeli territory.
Ismail was involved in an engagement with an IDF tank crew, identified as Tank Number 3, during which Captain Omer Neutra, Sergeant Oz Daniel, and Staff Sergeant Nimrod Cohen were abducted, and tank driver Sergeant Shaked Dahan was wounded. The IDF stated that throughout the war, Ismail had been involved in ambushes targeting IDF forces.
Furthermore, the IDF reported that Ismail had recently been advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, systematically violating the ceasefire. The military stated that Ismail was eliminated to neutralize the threat he posed.
