IDF Eliminates Hamas Nukhba Commander Involved in October 7th Attack
The Israeli military announced on Thursday the targeted killing of Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail, identified as a commander in Hamas's Nukhba force, in an operation in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
Ismail was reportedly involved in the October 7th Hamas raid into Israel, participating in the capture of IDF armored corps soldiers from Tank Number 3. During this engagement, Captain Omer Naotara, Sergeant Oz Daniel, and Sergeant Nimrod Cohen were killed, and Tank Driver Sergeant Shaked Dahan was also fatally wounded.
Throughout the ongoing conflict, Ismail was allegedly engaged in ambushes against Israeli forces. In the period leading up to his death, he was reportedly advancing further terror plans, systematically violating ceasefire agreements, until the strike was carried out to neutralize the threat he posed.
Southern Command stated that forces are deployed in the area according to agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
