IDF Eliminates Hamas Commanders Involved in October 7th Attack and Naval Unit

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday the elimination of two Hamas operatives, including a commander of the elite Nukhba force who participated in the October 7th massacre and a commander in Hamas's naval wing. The IDF stated that the strikes were aimed at removing immediate threats posed by the operatives.

The first operative, Muhammad Jamal Ahmed Eid, identified as a Nukhba commander in Hamas's military wing, was killed in an airstrike in the Al-Bureij area on Wednesday. He had infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th attacks.

The second operative, Saleh Ziad Ibrahim Muqdad, a squad commander in the naval wing of Hamas's military arm, was eliminated in a separate strike near Gaza City on Tuesday. The IDF noted that these operatives had been advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, enhancing their operatives' capabilities and restoring the organization's strength, all while systematically violating the ceasefire.

Prior to these strikes, the IDF reported taking measures to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to neutralize any immediate threats.
