Israel Eliminates Hamas Commanders Tied to October 7th Attack and Naval Operations
The Israeli military announced it has conducted targeted airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, eliminating two senior Hamas commanders. One of the eliminated individuals was identified as Muhammad Jamal Ahmed Eid, a commander in Hamas's elite Nukhba force, who participated in the October 7th massacre by infiltrating Israeli territory. He was targeted in an attack in the Al-Bureij area.
In a separate strike conducted two days prior near Gaza City, Israeli forces killed Saleh Ziad Ibrahim Muqdad, a squad commander in Hamas's naval wing. The IDF stated that both commanders were recently involved in advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians and were working to restore the capabilities and improve the readiness of Hamas operatives, systematically violating the ceasefire.
The strikes were carried out to neutralize an immediate threat, with the IDF emphasizing that precise munitions and aerial surveillance were used to minimize civilian casualties. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to neutralize any threats.
