IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Naval Unit Commanders in Gaza, One Crossed into Israel on Oct. 7
The Israeli military announced it has eliminated two Hamas naval unit commanders in Gaza City. One of the targeted individuals was identified as Mohammed Jamal Ahmed Eid, a "Nukhba" commander and a commander in Hamas's naval unit who infiltrated Israel on October 7th. He was killed in an airstrike in Al-Bureij, Gaza City.
In a separate strike in Gaza City, Salah Ziad Ibrahim Makdad, a squad commander in Hamas's military wing naval unit, was also killed. The IDF stated that both Eid and Makdad were recently advancing terror operations and worked to improve the operational readiness of Hamas operatives.
Both individuals were part of Hamas's naval forces, a branch of the organization involved in planning and executing terror activities. Their elimination is part of ongoing Israeli efforts to dismantle Hamas's military capabilities following the October 7th attacks.
