IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Operatives in Northern Gaza

The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that it had eliminated two Hamas operatives in the northern Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, one of the individuals was a commander in Hamas's Nukhba commando unit, and the other was a sniper within the organization's military wing. The IDF stated that the two operatives were involved in arms trafficking and the supply of weapons, and were advancing terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, in violation of the ceasefire.

Separately, Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned riots that occurred in the villages of Qusra and Jalud. He described the actions as a "red line" crossed by lawbreakers acting contrary to Israel's laws and values. Herzog urged the government, security forces, and the justice and law enforcement systems to act decisively and in coordination to eradicate the phenomenon and prosecute those involved.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Hammer commented on the events in Qusra, stating that while there have been important statements from the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and military, "decisive action is needed to back up their statements."
