IDF Eliminates Two Senior Hamas Operatives Rebuilding Terror Capabilities in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the targeted killing of two senior Hamas militants, Fares Almazari and Muhammad Abu Shakyan, in precise strikes last week in northern Gaza. Both operatives were actively involved in restoring Hamas’s military capabilities, violating the recent ceasefire agreement. Almazari served as head of Hamas’s production unit, systematically manufacturing weapons and rebuilding terror infrastructure during the ceasefire period. Abu Shakyan, a member of Hamas’s Nukhba unit, was engaged in planning terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.

The IDF emphasized that these strikes were part of ongoing operations to neutralize immediate threats to Israeli soldiers and civilians. The killings follow a series of recent targeted actions against Hamas commanders and operatives, including the elimination of the Nukhba cell leader responsible for the October 7 attack on Re’im camp and other senior commanders advancing terror plans.

Israeli military spokespeople reaffirmed that the Southern Command remains deployed in the area to enforce the ceasefire while preventing Hamas from rebuilding its military strength. Security officials warn that Hamas continues to exploit the ceasefire to recruit militants and produce weapons, prompting systematic IDF efforts to thwart these attempts and remove involved terrorists.
