IDF Eliminates Two Senior Hamas Militants Behind Terror Plots in Gaza Strip

The Israel Defense Forces announced the targeted killing of two senior Hamas militants last week in separate precise strikes in the Gaza Strip. The militants, Muhammad Naguib Ashour and Tamer Said Abu Nahl, were actively involved in planning terror attacks against IDF forces operating in Gaza. Ashour served as the commander of Hamas’s Nukhba unit, while Abu Nahl led a military cell within the organization.

The IDF stated that the strikes were carried out after identifying the militants as immediate threats to soldiers on the ground. These operations are part of an ongoing campaign to neutralize terror threats in Gaza. Recently, the IDF also destroyed over a kilometer of Hamas’s underground tunnel networks and eliminated four rocket launch sites prepared for attacks against Israeli forces and civilians, despite a ceasefire.

The Southern Command remains deployed in the area, maintaining high alert and readiness to respond swiftly and forcefully to any attempts by terror groups to harm Israeli soldiers or launch attacks into Israel. The recent killings add to a series of operations targeting senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad figures involved in cross-border attacks, hostage holding, and financial networks.

The IDF emphasized its commitment to continue operations across all fronts to safeguard Israel’s security and preserve operational freedom to counter emerging threats.
