IDF Eliminates Three Hamas and Islamic Jihad Militants in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of three militants from Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the northern Gaza Strip, stating they were preparing attacks against Israeli soldiers. On Wednesday, the Israeli Air Force struck the Tuffah neighborhood in northern Gaza, killing Sa'id Assad Sa'id Akim, a battalion commander in Hamas's military wing. The IDF reported that Akim had recently been involved in planting explosives and planning attacks against Israeli forces.
Two additional militants were killed on Tuesday in separate strikes in northern Gaza. One was Nimer Yasser Nimer Arshi, responsible for artillery in an Islamic Jihad regional unit, who the IDF stated participated in rocket fire into Israel from the Daj-Tuffah area. The other was Ahmed Bazahat Saleh Shaer, a militant in Hamas's Shuja'iya battalion, who had also been engaged in planting explosive devices.
The IDF asserted that all three were planning further attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians, violating the ceasefire. Prior to the strikes, the military implemented measures to minimize civilian risk, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. IDF units from the Southern Command remain in the area and will continue to act against immediate threats.
