IDF Eliminates Hamas Battalion Commander in Northern Gaza
Israeli forces eliminated Ahmed Bateesh, identified as the commander of Hamas's Jabalia battalion in the northern Gaza Strip, overnight in northern Gaza. Bateesh was reportedly responsible for managing and organizing the weaponry of the northern Gaza brigade and was involved in coordinating and advancing the supply of weapons and military equipment to Hamas operatives.
According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Bateesh had recently been promoting terror plans against Israeli forces and citizens and worked to restore Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. The security forces stated that his elimination was aimed at removing the threat he posed.
During the operation, measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Security forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to act to remove any threats.
