Israel Eliminates Two Senior Hamas Operatives in Gaza Strikes
The Israeli military announced Tuesday that its forces eliminated two senior Hamas operatives in separate strikes in the Gaza Strip on Monday. The targeted individuals were identified as Rafat Abu Zamer, a company commander in Hamas's military wing's operations staff, and Muhammad Khader Fahmi Agour, a Hamas military wing operative involved in weapons manufacturing.
According to the IDF, Abu Zamer was involved in planning and leading training for Hamas operatives in preparation for the October 7th attacks and continued to train militants and develop the organization's combat capabilities. Agour was reportedly engaged in producing weapons for the group. The IDF stated that the strikes were conducted to neutralize the threat posed by the operatives.
During the operations, measures were reportedly taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Forces operating under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue to act to remove any immediate threats, in accordance with existing agreements.
