Israel Eliminates Two Senior Hamas Military Operatives in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday the elimination of two senior Hamas operatives in Gaza. The strikes targeted operatives involved in planning attacks and developing the organization's capabilities.
In Khan Younis, the IDF killed Rif'at Abu Zamr, identified as a company commander in the operational headquarters of Hamas's military wing. According to the IDF, Abu Zamr was involved in training Hamas operatives prior to the October 7th attacks and continued to train militants and enhance the organization's combat abilities recently. He was also reportedly advancing plans for attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians.
A separate strike in Gaza City eliminated Muhammad Khader Fahmi Ajur, also a member of Hamas's military wing, who was reportedly involved in weapons production for the group. The IDF stated that both operatives were working to restore Hamas's capabilities and systematically violated the ceasefire agreement.
The IDF stated that the strikes were carried out to neutralize the threat posed by the operatives. Measures were reportedly taken to minimize civilian harm during the operations, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
