IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Commanders in Gaza Strikes
The Israeli military (IDF) announced Tuesday that it had eliminated two Hamas commanders in separate strikes in the Gaza Strip. The operations targeted individuals described by the IDF as posing an immediate threat and advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians.
In the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis, the IDF struck and killed Ra'afat Abu Zamer, identified as a company commander in the operations staff of Hamas's military wing. According to the IDF, Abu Zamer trained militants for the October 7th attacks and recently continued to develop the organization's combat capabilities.
A separate strike in Gaza City resulted in the death of Muhammad Khader Fahmi Agour, described as an operative in Hamas's military wing involved in manufacturing weapons for the group.
The IDF stated that both individuals had recently advanced terror plots against Israeli soldiers and civilians and worked to restore the organization's capabilities, systematically violating a ceasefire. The strikes were conducted to neutralize the immediate threat they posed.
During the operations, the IDF reported taking measures to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. IDF forces in the southern command are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
