IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Commander in Northern Gaza
The Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency announced early Monday that they had eliminated Ahmed Batsch, the commander of Hamas's Jabalia battalion in northern Gaza. The strike, conducted overnight, targeted Batsch, who was described as responsible for managing and organizing weaponry for Hamas's northern Gaza brigade and was involved in coordinating the supply of arms and military equipment to the organization's operatives.
According to the IDF, Batsch had recently been advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians and was working to restore the organization's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. The operation was undertaken to neutralize the immediate threat he posed.
Israeli security forces stated that measures were taken before and during the strike to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Security forces remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to neutralize all threats.
