IDF Eliminates Three Hamas and Islamic Jihad Operatives in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that it had eliminated three operatives from Hamas and Islamic Jihad's military wings in northern Gaza. According to the IDF, the individuals were recently involved in advancing rocket fire and planting explosive devices targeting Israeli forces.

Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF conducted a strike in the Daraj Tuffah area, killing Said Asaad Said Akram, identified as a commander in Hamas's military wing for the Daraj Tuffah battalion. The military stated that Akram had been actively involved in deploying explosives and planning attacks against Israeli troops.

In two separate strikes Tuesday in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF eliminated Nemer Yasser Nemer Arshi, a regional Surface-to-Surface Missile (TASM) operative in Islamic Jihad's military wing, who participated in rocket launches from the Daraj Tuffah area toward Israel. Another strike killed Ahmed Bazat Saleh Shaer, an operative in Hamas's military wing's Shuja'iyya battalion, who the IDF said was recently engaged in planting explosives.

The IDF stated that the operatives' recent activities to advance terror plots, "in systematic violation of the ceasefire," posed a threat to its forces, and their elimination was necessary to neutralize this threat. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the existing agreement.
