Israeli Opposition Leader Accuses Netanyahu of Knowing Hamas Attack Plans
Yair Golan, leader of the Democratic Party, has sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following reports that Netanyahu received a warning from UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed about Hamas's preparations for an attack days before October 7, 2023. Golan stated on X that Netanyahu is "unfit and illegitimate" and belongs "in prison for crimes against the State of Israel."
Golan asserted that previous explanations suggesting the Prime Minister was not adequately informed of the threat are no longer valid. "The stories about 'I wasn't woken up' are over. He knew. He was warned," the politician declared. He accused Netanyahu of neglecting his duties and suggested the report of the warning undermines the Prime Minister's prior accounts.
The Democratic Party leader further claimed that Netanyahu had repeatedly received warnings from security agencies and the public but ignored them. Golan also alleged that the Prime Minister prioritized his own political survival over the country's security interests.
