Netanyahu Denies UAE President Warned Him of Hamas Attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vehemently denied a report claiming that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed warned him about a significant move planned by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar approximately ten days before the October 7th massacre. A statement released by Netanyahu's office on Tuesday completely rejected the report's claims.

The Prime Minister's response went beyond merely denying the alleged warning, also disputing the very existence of a conversation between Netanyahu and the UAE President during the period mentioned in the report. "An absolute lie. Prime Minister Netanyahu did not speak with the President of the United Arab Emirates during the period in question, nor did he receive any warning from him," the Prime Minister's office stated.

The denial comes in response to a report by the newspaper Haaretz, which stated that bin Zayed had spoken with Netanyahu about a week and a half before the October 7th attack. According to Haaretz, the UAE President warned Netanyahu that Sinwar was planning a significant action against Israel and sought to alert him to a development that could lead to bloodshed and regional instability.

The Haaretz report also alleged that Netanyahu had assessed that bin Zayed's purported warning concerned Judea and Samaria, and that security officials were not informed of this alleged warning. Netanyahu's current response presents a completely opposite version of events, asserting that the conversation the report is based on never took place during the specified period and that no warning was received from bin Zayed.
