IDF Destroys Hezbollah Tunnels in Lebanon, Releases Combat Footage

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage on Friday from underground tunnel networks recently destroyed in the Ali Taher ridge area of Lebanon. The released material includes recordings from the body camera of a Yahalom unit combat engineer, drone footage, and video of Hezbollah operatives being neutralized while firing from within the tunnels.

The operation to secure and destroy the tunnels followed extensive efforts by multiple IDF units, including the Golani Brigade, Givati Brigade, the 7th Brigade, the Yahalom combat engineering unit, Brigade 282, RAMD, and the Commando Brigade, all operating under the command of Division 36. These forces successfully gained operational control over the Ali Taher ridge and the Beaufort ridge before proceeding to clear and demolish the enemy infrastructure located beneath them.

The Yahalom soldiers were seen entering one of the underground passages, discovering various weapons and equipment, including mortar shells. Drone footage also captured weapons left behind within the tunnel system.

Prior to the demolition, the commander of Division 36 addressed his troops, describing the operation as one of the most complex ever undertaken by the Northern Command. He highlighted the combined efforts of the Commando Brigade, Yahalom, the Fire Brigade, Golani, and the 7th Brigade, emphasizing their work both above and below ground against immediate and distant threats. He noted the challenges faced, including obstacles and collapses, but stressed the forces' determination to complete the mission of destroying the Ali Taher ridge tunnels and enemy infrastructure in the area.
