IDF Destroys Hezbollah Underground Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon

IDF Spokesperson
Translated & summarized from IDF Spokesperson by baba
The story · English

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday the completion of the destruction of underground infrastructure in the Al-Tahir mountain range in southern Lebanon. Following recent operational control of the area, both above and below ground, IDF forces from Division 36 carried out the operation after extensive preparation.

The objective was to permanently neutralize Hezbollah's capability to plan and execute terror routes against Israeli civilians and soldiers from these subterranean facilities. The destroyed infrastructure spanned over two kilometers and contained dozens of Iranian-made rockets, missiles, and drones, along with machine guns, anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines and explosives.

Last week, the IDF discovered a central command complex within these tunnels belonging to Hezbollah's 'Badr' unit. This complex included operational rooms, weapons storage, and living quarters, enabling terrorists to wage war and reside there for extended periods. This strategic infrastructure, built over two decades, was funded and designed by Iran.

The IDF stated its forces will continue operations in the security zone of southern Lebanon to eliminate threats and destroy terror infrastructure, preventing Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians. The IDF reiterated its commitment to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
