IDF Destroys Hezbollah Tunnel Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released dramatic footage on Friday showcasing the destruction of a complex Hezbollah tunnel network in southern Lebanon. The operation, codenamed 'Chozeiv Lehavot' (Scorching Flames), targeted the tunnel infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge.
The released videos capture the moment the subterranean network was detonated using hundreds of tons of explosives. Commando Brigade soldiers infiltrated the area to plant the explosives, which led to the complete collapse of the tunnels. The IDF stated that the footage documents the conclusion of an extensive and well-planned deception exercise.
This exercise involved Brigade 7, the Golani Reconnaissance Unit, the Commando Brigade, and all forces of the 36th Division, who operated in the area for approximately four consecutive months. The IDF emphasized that following the destruction of the infrastructure, no further Hezbollah terror infrastructure remains in the area.
IDF forces are now consolidating along the 'Blue Line,' which serves as the new security border in southern Lebanon. The operation signifies a significant blow to Hezbollah's subterranean capabilities in the region.
