Israeli Military Destroys Hezbollah Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military announced on Thursday the completion of the destruction of underground tunnels in the Ali Al-Taher highlands area of southern Lebanon. The military stated that its forces had recently achieved operational control over the highlands, both above and below ground.

Following extensive preparatory activity, forces from the 36th Division destroyed the underground infrastructure, described as over two kilometers long. The military aims to neutralize Hezbollah's ability to plan and execute attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers from these tunnels. The tunnels were located within the security zone.

During the operation, Israeli forces discovered and confiscated dozens of Iranian-made rockets, missiles, and drones, along with machine guns, anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines and explosive devices. Last week, a central command complex belonging to Hezbollah's "Badr" unit was found within the tunnels. This complex included command and control rooms, weapons storage areas, and living quarters that allowed militants to sustain prolonged combat operations.

The Israeli military described the destroyed infrastructure as strategic, built over two decades, and funded and planned by Iran. The operation is intended to permanently neutralize Hezbollah's capabilities originating from this specific location.
