IDF Completes Destruction of Hezbollah Tunnels on Mount Ali al-Taher

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday, September 10, the completion of operations to destroy Hezbollah tunnels located on the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. This action followed weeks of Israeli forces establishing operational control over the area, both above and below ground. The IDF's 36th Division, after extensive preparation, neutralized the underground tunnel network within the security zone. The objective was to prevent the Hezbollah terrorist organization from utilizing this infrastructure for planning and executing attacks against Israeli civilians and military personnel. The destroyed tunnel system spanned over two kilometers in length. During the operation, Israeli forces discovered dozens of Iranian-made rockets and drones, along with machine guns, numerous anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines and explosive devices. Last week, it was reported that a central command complex belonging to Hezbollah's "Badr" unit was found within the underground infrastructure. This complex included operational headquarters, weapon storage facilities, and living quarters, enabling terrorists to direct combat operations and sustain prolonged underground presence. The fortified underground infrastructure had been under construction for two decades, funded and designed by Iran.
