IDF Destroys Two Hezbollah Tunnels in Southern Lebanon Village
The Israel Defense Forces announced on Thursday that combat troops from Brigade 551, alongside the Yahalom engineering unit and under the command of Division 91, destroyed two underground tunnel routes in the village of Majdal Zun in southern Lebanon. The IDF stated that the tunnels were part of a heavily fortified terrorist infrastructure in the area.
The combined length of the tunnels was approximately 200 meters, reaching depths of around 20 meters. Inside, the forces found living quarters, three launch shafts aimed toward Israeli territory, and dozens of weapons. During the operation, the troops also discovered a weapons cache containing mortar shells, launchers, and RPG rockets.
This recent destruction adds to a significant tunnel route previously eliminated in the same region. Additionally, in the past week, Brigade 551 fighters neutralized an armed terrorist operating near one of the underground routes. The IDF emphasized the ongoing efforts to expose and dismantle Hezbollah's subterranean military infrastructure along the Israel-Lebanon border.
