IDF Destroys Two Large Hezbollah Tunnels in Southern Lebanon Near Maghdal Zun

The Israeli Defense Forces announced on Thursday that their elite engineering unit, Yahalom, destroyed two extensive Hezbollah tunnels in the fortified village of Maghdal Zun in southern Lebanon. These tunnels, measuring approximately 200 meters in length and 20 meters deep, contained living quarters, three launch shafts aimed at Israeli territory, and dozens of weapons. This operation is part of ongoing efforts amid rising tensions with Iran and Hezbollah in the northern arena.

In addition to the tunnels, IDF forces discovered a significant cache of weaponry in the area, including mortars, launchers, and RPG rockets. The destruction follows a similar operation conducted just over two weeks ago in the same village, where another tunnel used for storing explosives and launchers targeting Israel was eliminated. Furthermore, during recent patrols, IDF troops neutralized an armed militant near one of the tunnel routes.

These actions underscore Israel's continued focus on countering Hezbollah's underground infrastructure and preventing attacks from southern Lebanon. The IDF continues to monitor and respond to threats in the region as tensions escalate.
