IDF Destroys Hezbollah's Extensive Underground Tunnel in South Lebanon
Following approval from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage on Sunday showing the destruction of a large underground tunnel complex used by Hezbollah in the village of Majdal Zun, located in the security zone of southern Lebanon. The operation was carried out by the 551 Brigade combat team and Yahalom forces under the command of the 91st Division.
The tunnel system, constructed using technology and expertise from the Iranian regime, stretched over 200 meters in length and reached depths exceeding 25 meters. Inside the tunnel, the IDF discovered hundreds of weapons and four launch shafts aimed at Israeli territory. The IDF emphasized its commitment to continue operations in the security zone to neutralize threats and prevent Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians and soldiers.
The military spokesperson stated that the destruction of this tunnel is part of ongoing efforts to safeguard Israel's borders and maintain security in the region.
