IDF Completes Hezbollah Tunnel Clearance on Mount Ali Taher, Begins Dismantling

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of its operation to clear Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Mount Ali Taher ridge, located in southern Lebanon. Over the past few weeks, forces from the 36th Division established operational control of the area, both above and below ground, clearing two tunnel routes used by Hezbollah militants. The IDF stated that some militants were killed during the operation, while others managed to escape.

The IDF described the cleared tunnels as strategic infrastructure that Hezbollah had been developing for two decades, allegedly with funding and planning from Iran. Inside the tunnels, Israeli forces discovered command centers, weapons storage facilities, generators, living quarters, showers, and a kitchen. According to the IDF, Hezbollah utilized this subterranean network for combat operations against Israeli forces and for launching attacks on border areas.

Following the clearance of militants, the IDF has begun the process of dismantling the tunnel network. The military asserted that the operation has neutralized the capability to launch attacks from these tunnels. Once the dismantling is complete, the IDF plans to re-establish defensive positions in the area based on ongoing security assessments.
