IDF Completes Hezbollah Tunnel Clearing Operation on Ali Taher Ridge

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday the completion of its operation to clear and neutralize Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. Forces from the 36th Division conducted the operation over recent weeks, gaining operational control above and below ground in the area.

According to an IDF spokesperson, the forces cleared the area of militants, some of whom were killed and others fled. The operation focused on neutralizing the underground infrastructure, which the IDF stated was used by Hezbollah to carry out terror attacks against Israel and its forces. The IDF believes this action has neutralized the ability to launch attacks from these specific tunnels.

During the operation, the IDF discovered significant underground facilities, including command posts, weapons storage rooms, generator rooms, living quarters, showers, and kitchens. These facilities, built over two decades and funded by Iran, enabled militants to sustain prolonged combat and presence in the area. The IDF stated that these were strategic infrastructures.

The IDF reiterated its commitment to continuing operations to clear the security zone in southern Lebanon and prevent Hezbollah from advancing terror plans. The military vowed to respond forcefully to any Hezbollah actions against IDF forces, while also affirming its commitment to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
