IDF Destroys Hezbollah Terror Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday evening the destruction of Hezbollah terror tunnels located on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that this operation completes the organization of the security zone in southern Lebanon.

They described the destroyed infrastructure as a strategic terror network built over two decades with Iranian funding and planning. The tunnels and command center on the ridge were intended to serve as a base for conquering the Galilee and to control observation and fire over the Israeli towns of Metula and Kiryat Shmona. Their destruction, they said, completes the achievement of operational control over the Ali Taher ridge, both above and below ground.

The IDF forces are preparing for defense in the area and to prevent the enemy's return to the territory. The military will remain in the security zone, continue to destroy terror infrastructure, and thwart any attempt by Hezbollah to re-establish itself and rebuild its capabilities. "The State of Israel will continue to defend the northern communities from within Lebanon, and any attempt to harm our citizens and our forces will be met with force," Netanyahu and Gallant added.
