IDF Destroys Hezbollah Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday evening the destruction of Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, completing the organization of the security zone in the area. The announcement was made in a joint statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
The statement described the destroyed infrastructure as a strategic terror asset built over two decades with Iranian funding and planning. This infrastructure and command center were intended to serve as a base for conquering the Galilee and controlling observation and fire over the Israeli towns of Metula and Kiryat Shmona. Their destruction reportedly completes the achievement of operational control over the Ali Taher ridge, both above and below ground.
The IDF stated that its forces are preparing for defense in the area and to prevent the enemy's return. The military affirmed it will remain in the security zone, continue to destroy terror infrastructure, and thwart any attempt by Hezbollah to re-establish itself and rebuild its capabilities.
