Israel Completes Destruction of Hezbollah Underground Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have destroyed Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge, completing the organization of the security zone in southern Lebanon. The operation targeted a strategic terror infrastructure built over two decades with Iranian funding and planning.
According to the announcement, the destroyed infrastructure and command center on the ridge were intended to serve as a base for conquering the Galilee and to control observation and fire on the Israeli towns of Metula and Kiryat Shmona. The destruction is said to complete the achievement of operational control over the Ali Taher ridge, both above and below ground.
"Israel will continue to defend the northern communities from within Lebanon," the statement read. "Any attempt to harm our citizens and our forces will be met with force."
