IDF Destroys 200-Meter Hezbollah Terror Tunnel in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed on Sunday the destruction of an extensive underground tunnel network used by Hezbollah beneath the Bofor ridge near the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon. The tunnel, exceeding 200 meters in length and more than 25 meters deep, contained hundreds of weapons and several launch shafts intended for attacks against Israeli territory and civilians.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz jointly announced the operation, named "End of Sentence," confirming the elimination of this terror infrastructure. They stated that Israel had informed the United States and the American representative in Lebanon in advance about the tunnel's destruction.
The joint statement emphasized that IDF commanders and soldiers will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon to continue dismantling terror infrastructures, removing threats to northern Israeli communities, and safeguarding Israeli citizens.
Earlier on the same day, the Home Front Command issued a warning to residents in the area about a planned high-intensity explosion in the western Galilee region, which could result in audible detonations across the sector, including the Hula Valley.
