IDF Destroys Hezbollah Tunnel Network in Southern Lebanon, Residents Mistake Blast for Earthquake
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) demolished a large Hezbollah tunnel network near the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon on June 28, 2026. The explosion was so massive that local residents fled their homes, mistaking the blast for an earthquake. According to a joint statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, the underground tunnel system extended over 200 meters in length and was more than 25 meters deep.
