IDF Demolishes Hezbollah Command Center in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military has completed a large-scale operation in the Ali Taher ridge area of southern Lebanon, destroying a significant Hezbollah command center and eliminating numerous militants. Forces from Division 36, the Commando Brigade, and the Yahalom unit detonated over 1,100 tons of explosives, obliterating the command center of Hezbollah's "Bader" unit and rendering the strategic terror stronghold non-existent. This operation effectively neutralized the ridge, which had controlled the Nabatieh region.

The operation involved meticulously planned stages. Initially, Commando Brigade fighters secured the surface area of the ridge through ambushes and precise attacks on tunnel entrances using gunfire, grenades, and drones. Following the surface clearance, forces penetrated the complex underground network, aiming to dismantle Hezbollah's capability to plan and execute terror attacks against northern Israel and IDF forces.

During the operation, militants attempting to escape or resupply were eliminated by air strikes and artillery fire. In one notable engagement, Egoz unit soldiers directly confronted and killed a fleeing militant. The IDF reported discovering vast caches of weapons within the eight underground tunnels, which totaled over 5,400 meters in length. These included dozens of explosive drones, advanced UAVs, machine guns, anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mines, explosive devices, and RPGs.

With the destruction of the Ali Taher infrastructure, following similar operations in the Beaufort ridge and surrounding villages, the area has been completely cleared and is no longer usable by the enemy. The IDF stated that forces remain on high alert in southern Lebanon, prepared for any multi-arena scenario to ensure the security of northern Israeli residents.
