IDF Spokesperson Tours Hezbollah Tunnels After Destruction

The Israeli military released new footage on Thursday from within a network of Hezbollah tunnels in the Ali Taher mountain range in southern Lebanon, following the IDF's completion of their destruction. The IDF used approximately 1,100 tons of explosives to demolish the tunnels, eliminating about 5.4 kilometers of underground infrastructure. The military is preparing for a potential escalation from Hezbollah and possibly Iran in response to the operation.

Brigadier General Avi Daffin, the IDF spokesperson, entered the tunnel complex, which had been under construction for two decades with funding and guidance from Iran, according to the IDF. Footage shows Daffin inside the tunnels, which the military stated served as a central command and control hub for Hezbollah's Badr unit in the area.

Weapons were discovered inside the tunnels, some of which the IDF claims were manufactured in Iran. Daffin stated from within the tunnels that the Iranian regime funded and directed the construction of this network. He also addressed Hezbollah operatives who were in the tunnels, saying, "All the terrorists who were in the infrastructure were eliminated or fled. Although Hezbollah declared it would defend the infrastructure at all costs, it failed and even abandoned its men to die inside."

The IDF announced that the underground routes have been neutralized and destroyed, and the mission in the area is complete. The operation aimed to dismantle a significant part of Hezbollah's subterranean capabilities.
