IDF Spokesperson Emerges From Hezbollah Tunnel in Lebanon Declaring Area Cleared

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson announced on Tuesday that IDF forces have cleared the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, destroying a significant Hezbollah underground infrastructure. Speaking from within a large tunnel, the spokesperson stated that the area has been "purified" and all militants present were either killed or fled.

The tunnel network, described as a "central underground infrastructure," was reportedly built over two decades with funding and guidance from Iran. The IDF spokesperson detailed that over recent months, Israeli forces surrounded the area, increasing pressure on the tunnels and the militants entrenched within.

Hezbollah's vow to defend the infrastructure at all costs was characterized as a failure, with the organization abandoning its operatives. The spokesperson also acknowledged the heavy cost of the operation, noting that Israeli soldiers were killed in the battles to capture and clear the ridge. He affirmed the IDF's commitment to defending northern Israeli communities and eliminating threats along all borders.
