Ben Gurion Airport Parking Lots Reopen After Full Capacity Announcement
The Israel Airports Authority announced on Monday that parking lots at Ben Gurion Airport have reopened to private vehicles, following a temporary closure due to full capacity. The authority had previously advised travelers not to come to the airport by car, stating that all parking facilities were completely full. This surge in demand is attributed to the high volume of passengers traveling during the Tishrei holidays. Earlier this month, it was reported that approximately 100,000 passengers were expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport on a single day, anticipated to be the busiest of the year. The airport prepared for these large numbers by increasing staffing, with around 600 flights scheduled for that peak day. In total, an estimated 2.5 million passengers are expected to travel through the airport during September, a period typically marked by the highest traffic due to the Tishrei holidays.
