Ben Gurion Airport Reopens Parking Lots After Previous Warning

Ben Gurion Airport (Natbag) announced on Sunday that its parking lots have reopened, allowing travelers to once again arrive at the airport by private car. The previous day, the Airports Authority had advised travelers not to come to the airport with their private vehicles. The announcement stated that parking spaces have become available and the public can now park at the airport's lots, subject to availability.

On Sunday, approximately 96,000 passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport. Over the past seven days, the average delay for departures has been 66 minutes, and for arrivals, 52 minutes. The destinations with the longest delays included Paphos (117 minutes), Corfu (105 minutes), and Rhodes (99 minutes). In contrast, average delays were shorter for flights to Abu Dhabi (15 minutes), Bangkok (23 minutes), and Dubai (29 minutes).

The best time for departure, with an average delay of 34 minutes, is 6:00 AM. Conversely, flights departing at 2:00 PM experience the longest average delays, reaching 109 minutes.

Last week, the Airports Authority projected that between Yom Kippur and after Sukkot, about 1.13 million passengers would travel through Ben Gurion Airport. During Sukkot, over 90,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport daily. Popular destinations for Israelis include Greece, Cyprus, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Germany, Georgia, and France.
