Daily passenger numbers are expected to exceed 90,000 during Sukkot.
The authority stated that parking facilities have reached full capacity, with no available spaces. They will issue updates on parking availability without providing a specific timeline for when spots might reopen. The current congestion reflects the peak travel season during the holidays, which typically sees a significant increase in air travel.
As an indicator of the high volume, last Thursday, September 24, saw around 105,000 passengers depart or arrive on 614 flights. A similar level of activity is expected next Thursday, October 1, with an estimated 100,000 passengers. Popular destinations for travelers during this holiday period include Greece, Cyprus, Italy, the UAE, the United States, Germany, Georgia, and France.
