Ben Gurion Airport Parking Full, Public Transport Advised
Parking lots at Ben Gurion Airport are completely full, the Israel Airports Authority announced on Sunday, September 27. The authority is urging passengers, as well as those picking up or dropping off travelers, to avoid arriving in personal vehicles and instead use public transportation.
The authority stated it will inform passengers when parking spaces become available again and apologized for the inconvenience, asking for understanding. Further updates will be published if the parking situation changes.
The congestion comes during the peak of the autumn holiday season, a period of high passenger traffic. The Airports Authority projects that from the end of Yom Kippur on September 22 through October 4, approximately 1.13 million passengers will pass through the airport. On Sukkot, daily passenger numbers are expected to exceed 90,000.
Last Thursday, September 24, saw around 105,000 passengers and 614 flights. For the upcoming Thursday, October 1, an estimated 100,000 passengers are expected.
