Israeli Settler Killed in West Bank Attack; Gunman Captured

A Hamas gunman, Qadri Samara, 37, murdered Natanel Shkaron, a father of six, near the Ein Ri'a spring in the Benjamin region of the West Bank on Sunday evening. Shkaron, a 40-year-old IT systems analyst, was at the spring with his 16-year-old son, who was unharmed. A tracker from the Binyamin Brigade, who was in a protected vehicle nearby, shot and wounded the attacker, preventing further harm to Shkaron's son. The gunman, who had scouted the area a day prior, fled the scene and was later apprehended by Duvdevan unit soldiers in a Ramallah clinic, where he was found in bed.

Following the attack, IDF forces raided the Palestinian town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem, identified as the gunman's hometown. Palestinian reports claim approximately 50 individuals were arrested and held in a house that Israeli forces secured during the operation.

Natanel Shkaron, originally from the settlement of Eli Zahav, is survived by his wife, Merav, and six children. His funeral was scheduled for Sunday night. The Eli Zahav community described Shkaron as a kind, humble, and beloved man, deeply devoted to his family and a vital part of their community.
