Palestinian Gunman Kills Israeli Man Near West Bank Settlement, Captured

A Palestinian gunman opened fire on Israelis at a natural spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region on Sunday, killing 40-year-old Natanel Shicron. Shicron, a father of six from the settlement of Ali Zahav, had gone to the spring with his eldest son to immerse himself ahead of Yom Kippur. He was evacuated in critical condition to Beilinson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an extensive manhunt involving the IDF's Duvdevan Unit, Shin Bet, and other security forces, the gunman was apprehended inside a hospital in Ramallah. He was reportedly wounded by IDF tracker fire during the pursuit. Security forces are continuing to gather evidence from the scene.

In response to the attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered increased IDF and Shin Bet operations, including curfews, offensive actions, arrests, and the immediate demolition of the attacker's home. IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi visited the scene and vowed to reach anyone who aided the attacker, emphasizing that the military's mission is not complete.

Separately, on the same day, Israeli forces in the northern Samaria region shot and killed a Palestinian attacker who attempted to carry out a ramming attack against soldiers near the community of Ganim. No soldiers were injured in that incident.
