Gun Attack Near Israeli Settlement Leaves Man Critically Injured

A man in his 30s was critically injured in a shooting attack Sunday morning near the Israeli settlement of Neve Tzuf in the West Bank. The victim was evacuated from the scene near the Ein Ra'aya spring, reportedly in a life-threatening condition and unconscious.

According to the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service, the report of the shooting was received at 11:29 AM. Israeli security forces, including the IDF, the elite Duvdevan unit, and police, immediately launched a manhunt for the assailant, who fled the scene on foot. Roadblocks have been established in the area as the search continues.

Initial reports suggest the attacker fired from a passing vehicle at individuals near the spring before exiting the car, armed, and escaping into the surrounding area. The IDF stated that numerous forces are involved in the pursuit, including troops from the Benjamin Brigade, additional reinforcement companies, and Israeli police. Air Force assets have also been deployed to the region.

Police forces from the Judea and Samaria district are at the scene, and the commander of the district, Superintendent Moshe Finchi, along with the commander of the Samaria region, Superintendent Avi Cohen, are en route. The attack led to the closure of Route 465 between Bir Zeit and the Abud bypass in both directions. Security forces are continuing their search for the suspect, and the details of the incident are still under investigation.
