Israeli Man Killed in West Bank Shooting Attack; Perpetrator Apprehended

An Israeli man was killed in a shooting attack near the West Bank settlement of Neve Tzuf (also known as Halamish) on Tuesday. The victim, described as being around 30 years old, was shot and critically wounded by assailants firing from a passing vehicle. He was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared the incident a terrorist attack and deployed forces to the scene. Approximately three hours after the shooting, the perpetrator was apprehended. According to the IDF, a tracker who was in the vicinity arrived at the scene shortly after the attack and opened fire on the suspect, wounding him. Subsequently, Duvdevan unit soldiers apprehended the injured suspect after he arrived at a nearby hospital.

Initial reports offered conflicting details regarding the perpetrator's escape route, with some suggesting he fled on foot and others indicating he used a red Mitsubishi car. The IDF stated that forces were dispatched to the area and that the investigation into the details of the attack is ongoing. The attack occurred in the Binyamin brigade's area of responsibility.
