West Bank Settler Critically Wounded in Shooting Attack; Official Demands Increased Military Action

A resident of the Samaria region was critically injured Sunday in a shooting attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region. The victim was shot while at the Ein Ra'aya spring when a terrorist opened fire from a passing vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot. Emergency medical teams treated the wounded man and transported him to Beilinson Hospital. Security forces immediately launched a manhunt for the attacker, setting up roadblocks in the area. The social services department of the Samaria Regional Council is providing support to the victim's family.

Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, who was en route to the hospital, condemned the attack. "We are praying for the recovery of the Samaria resident who was critically injured in the difficult attack," he stated. "I commend the IDF soldiers currently operating in the field and pursuing the terrorist."

Dagan also called for intensified security operations, demanding that security forces "increase the intensity of activity within the villages, go house to house, collect illegal weapons, and dismantle the terror infrastructure." He further urged the immediate reinstatement of security checkpoints on roads, emphasizing, "We must not allow terrorists to move freely and must not wait for the next attack. The State of Israel must move from defense to offense and restore deterrence and security to the residents. The settlement will never be broken!"
