Natanel Sharon, a resident of the Samaria region, was killed in a shooting attack Sunday near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region of the West Bank. Sharon, who is survived by his wife and six children, was shot and killed by a terrorist while visiting a spring with his eldest son. He was initially evacuated to a hospital in critical condition, but doctors later pronounced him dead.

The Palestinian gunman, a resident of the village of Biddu, was apprehended alive after an extensive manhunt involving Israeli military and security forces. Following the shooting, the IDF blocked roads in the area and initiated a pursuit, deploying air support, reserve platoons, and elite Duvdevan unit forces. The forces aimed to track the attacker's escape route and prevent him from reaching Israeli settlements or carrying out further attacks.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israeli security forces were pursuing the "despicable terrorist" and vowed that "no terrorist is immune." He also ordered the IDF and Shin Bet to reinforce operations in the West Bank, impose closures, and conduct offensive actions and arrests to ensure Israeli citizens' safety. Netanyahu further instructed that the terrorist's home be demolished immediately.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for the death penalty to be applied to terrorists. President Isaac Herzog condemned the "murderous terror attack" occurring just before Yom Kippur, expressing condolences to the victim's family and praying for the injured. He asserted that "terror will not break us." Benjamin Regional Council head Yisrael Gantz described the difficult event, noting that settlers would remain strong and expand their communities despite such attacks.
